The Wharf Parcel 10

87,000 square feet
5 stories
Washington, D.C.
2021

Located at the convergence of M Street Landing and the bend of the Washington Channel, Parcel 10 serves as a bold "jewel box" terminus to District Wharf, a new mixed-use waterfront development in Washington, D.C. With an elegant rotated glass volume that appears to float above its plinth, the new five-story commercial office building anchors the development as a nuanced counterpoint to the larger buildings lining the channel. The plinth itself is a concrete volume pierced by a glass storefront and topped by an expansive private terrace. Terraces on the fifth floor add to the abundant outdoor space accessible by the building’s users. At the ground plane, the plinth incorporates a main retail entrance on axis with the district’s riverwalk to create an engaging bookend to the development.
