3 East 28th

58,000 square feet
12 stories
New York, New York
2017

Originally built in 1912, this 12-story commercial building in central NoMad has been updated with a new retail storefront, large, flexible floor plans, and a landscaped roof deck.

At street level, a new double-height storefront marks the entrance to 3 East 28th Street’s 5,100-square-foot multilevel retail space. Adjacent to the storefront, the original limestone office entry, which has been carefully restored, leads to a new lobby finished with custom furnishings and a steel-paneled wall.

The floor-through office spaces above have been redesigned with a contemporary industrial character featuring high-ceilings and oak herringbone floors that complement the building’s historic character and take advantage of the original windows wrapping at least three sides of every floor.

On the building’s roof, a newly landscaped terrace provides generous outdoor space for the tenant.

Oak herringbone floors complement the original building’s historic character.
