Preservation Society Honors The Pinch
MA is very proud to have received a Pro Merito Award for The Pinch Hotel from the Preservation Society of Charleston. The award was announced at the 70th annual Carolopolis Awards Gala—the organization’s annual recognition of exemplary preservation projects in Charleston and the Lowcountry.
Located on Lower King Street, the unique hospitality project is composed of four buildings, including three restored structures dating back to 1843. The objective was to preserve, restore, and transform the enclave of buildings into a stylish, warm, and contemporary boutique hotel. Above activated storefronts, the development contains 25 bespoke rooms, suites, and residences, each with a designer kitchen.
"The transition has been so smooth that many locals didn’t notice the change until realizing the upper windows were no longer boarded up, then spying on the Pinch’s understated marquee."
Executive Director Ian Mills and Senior Designer Rossana Russo Pavone were there to accept the prestigious Pro Merito Award.
