Future Green Studio
Brooklyn, NY
Future Green Studio is a Brooklyn-based landscape design firm whose practice is focused upon the complex interaction between natural forces and the urban environment. Their work takes a context-based approach, with careful research and observation of environmental conditions, as well as client needs, sustainability, and aesthetic concerns.

The works on view come from their exhibition “Sections of the Anthropocene” at MA’s office between November 15, 2018 - March 1, 2019, which was their first opportunity to make autonomous works of art that addresses humanity’s impact on the environment. These works are from a larger series that derives from research for their book Spontaneous Urban Plants. The book explores industrial and post-industrial spaces where native plants have started to reclaim the urban landscape created by humans.

Though climate change is one of the most pressing issues of the current moment, with man’s negative impact and acceleration of it becoming increasingly evident, Future Green’s work speculates on an optimistic future. They have worked collaboratively with numerous types of clients, and worked with MA to design the exterior landscaping for the Atlantic Plumbing residences, shown below. Currently, Future Green is working to design the 13,000 square foot elevated park space at MA’s Steel House project in Denver.
